National Mustard Day

National Mustard Day is celebrated at the Mustard Museum annually the first Saturday in August (August 2, 2003 is this year's celebration). The Mount Horeb Mustard Museum has been the official sponsor of National Mustard Day since 1991.

At the 2001 celebration, more than 3,000 mustard lovers descended upon Mount Horeb for fun, food, music, and lots of mustard. The celebration in 2002 is on August 3rd from 11:00am until 4:00pm. Our annual tribute to the King of Condiments includes mustard games, live music by The Amazos, Leonardo & Friends Clown Show, balloons for the kids, a caricaturist, appearances by French's Sweet Onion Man & Klement's Famous Sausage Racer, and lots more. Don't forget about the free hot dogs (while they last), courtesy of Klement's Sausage Co. of Milwaukee, WI, with buns donated by Wonder Bread. Proceeds of the games and contributions towards the hot dogs will benefit Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. Did you know that $1 can provide 7 meals to those in need?

In 2001 National Mustard Day raised more than $1,000 for the new Mount Horeb Public Library.

As part of the 2001 National Mustard Day weekend events, the Museum hosted the 2001 Mustard Family Reunion, a reunion for people whose last name is “Mustard.” 2001 marked the fifth year of the Mustard Family Reunion, bringing together people whose last name is synonymous with great taste.
